I hope you will enjoy browsing my paintings rich with striking colours, pared-back style, and contemporary elegance.
Using unconventional techniques - like needles to paint dandelions and handmade tools for poppies - I aim to capture the essence of each subject. Colour, texture and clarity are important considerations in each composition.

flowers
I aim to capture an essence rather than a literal interpretation of each subject. With a dandelion, for instance, I use needles to capture their distinctive petals whereas poppies require a different technique for which I make ‘palette knives’ from recycled plastic.
SEAscapes landscapes and abstracts
I love to create interpretative seascapes, landscapes and abstract works, usually working in acrylics but with some collage and mixed media. The common thread is my love of nature inspired by getting out in the landscapes of south west England.
FRUIT
My fruit paintings encourage the viewer to ‘see’ fruit in new ways. The scale of the work and intensity of colour draws the viewer to take a closer look. People often say how realistic they first appear, but look a little closer to discover more ‘painterly’ brush strokes.
