“Crisp, colourful, and contemporary" best describes my still life paintings. I aim to show the extraordinary in ordinary fruit and flowers. Bold colours and rich textures are balanced by minimalist precision to creating striking, harmonious artworks.

I use unconventional techniques - needles to paint dandelions, handmade tools for poppies - to capture the essence of each subject. Every composition is a thoughtful study of colour, texture, and clarity, to present a refined view of reality.

Framed in my signature white St Ives style, my paintings complement both modern and traditional interiors.

I aim to capture an essence rather than a literal interpretation of each subject. With a dandelion, for instance, I use needles to capture their distinctive petals whereas poppies require a different technique for which I make ‘palette knives’ from recycled plastic.

CREATUREs

Inspired by snorkling in the Mediterranean and further afield, as well as visits to European and Asian food markets, I have started to include fish and other creatures. Sardines, mackerel and anchovies have all featured and there will be more to see in 2025.

FRUIT

My fruit paintings encourage the viewer to ‘see’ fruit in new ways. The scale of the work and intensity of colour draws the viewer to take a closer look. People often say how realistic they first appear, but look a little closer to discover more ‘painterly’ brush strokes.

Prints

Starting at just £65, high quality art prints make an attractive alternative to original paintings.

As soon as I saw your painting I knew I would buy it - it just made me happy!
