My first rectangular poppy painting, perfect for fireplace alcoves, hallways and taller spaces.

I have paired these firey orange poppies against a soft denim background and added a white base to give this painting a crisp, fresh feel.

This is an original poppy painting in acrylic on board, using handmade palette knives and some brushwork. It has been finished with three coats of professional artist varnish in a satin finish. This protects the artwork from UV light and dust, and allows it to be framed without glass, so the textures and maker's-marks can be fully appreciated.
