Ladybird

Ladybird
£195.00
New for 2025 - miniature pollinators on gold leaf.
I have always been fascinated by ladybirds and their vibrant shells. I believe it is thought to be a warning signal to deter predators. The bugs contain alkaloids which taste bad so in a way, their colouring is considered an ‘honest’ warning to would-be hunters to avoid!
The vibrant red and black colourings work well against the gold leaf background.
Acrylic on board.
