I enjoy applying paint as I would spread clotted cream on my scone - in generous proportions! Using my handmade ‘palette knives’ I create three dimensional, textured and multi-coloured poppies against a dark blue background to give not just visual contrast, but lovely thick textures too. I have my work framed without the barrier of glass, so these qualities may be enjoyed and appreciated.

The ‘St Ives’ style wooden frame is hand built in Bristol without glazing so the textural qualities may be fully appreciated. The painting is protected from UV and dust with several coats of professional artist varnish.
