Inspired by a visit to the ancient Greek theatre in Taormina, this still life with lemons in an elegant bowl is a twist on a classic. While the viewer is drawn in by the vibrant yellow lemons, it is the deep green leaves which dance across the canvas and carry the viewer's eye around the painting. Paired with a gentle olive green background this gives another nod to its Italian inspiration.

The classical subject has been brought up to date for modern homes with clean lines and an elegant composition.

Making this painting was a labour of love. It was on my easel for many weeks, with small tweaks at regular intervals plus several changes to the background colour until I was satisfied with the end result. I do hope you love it and have the perfect home for it!

Finished with 3 layers of professional artist varnish to seal the painting, protect it from UV and dust, and enable it to be framed without glass.
