I loved pairing vibrant coloured flower with the verdant green background in this large poppy painting. The thick impasto appplication of paint makes the poppies stand proud of the background and the white table top lifts the whole composition.

Smooth brushwork for the background and impasto application for the flowers, stems and vase give the viewer sees contrasting textures and colours to lift the soul!
